I got my first Stitch Fix!
Recently, I was having a little bit of shopping withdrawal. I saw a friend that tried Stitch Fix and decided that I needed a fix too! It looked fun and I loved the clothes.
For those of you that have not heard of Stitch Fix, it is a fun and convenient personal styling service that they tailor to your taste, budget and lifestyle. After you sign up, they ask you a series of questions to get to know your size and style preferences.
From the information you give them, they select 5 pieces to send you. There is a $20 styling fee, however that fee can be used towards your purchase if you choose to keep any of the items. They send a variety of pieces that may include clothing, accessories, and most recently added, shoes! When you are telling them about your size and style, you can also let them know your preferences on receiving items. For example, I have a ton of inexpensive jewelry and don’t really like spending much on it. I chose not to receive any jewelry.
You can select when you want to receive your fixes, whether it be monthly, every other month, or as frequent as you would like! I chose to receive mine monthly to start.
Once you receive your pieces, you have 3 days to try them on and decide what you want to keep. If you have any items that you don’t want, you can send them back. Stitch Fix provides you with a shipping package to send them back and pays for the return shipping! And better yet, if you decide to keep all 5 items, you get a 25% discount on your entire order! How fantastic is that!?
I was so excited to get my fix – it was a few days early! The packaging is perfect and centered around my favorite color, so I had to capture that too!
I was excited about the first few things I found! There is an area where you can leave a note for your stylist and I specifically asked for a pair of floral pants. Although I wanted a more colorful floral, these fit perfect and were super cute! I paired the top they sent and it fit perfect as well! The color is great and it has a fun little black embellishment on the shoulders. I decided to keep them both!
My stylist also sent a cute black purse along. It has gold accents and is perfect for a night out or for a buys day out and about!
It goes perfect with my first outfit too! I decided to keep it!
The second top they sent me was gray and was a high-low cut. It is super soft and was very comfortable! I added a necklace because I felt like it needed a little bit more. I decided to keep it!
It all comes down to the last item they sent me. It is a navy blue knit jacket. It is on the shorter side and a little heavy and bulky. When I saw it in the package, I wasn’t sure about it and was even less sure once I tried it on. It fits a little boxy and I wasn’t sure if it was flattering or not.
The longer I wore it, the more I started to like it. I am still not sure I love it, but it is growing on me. I tried it open rather than zipped up for a different look.
Overall, the prices were a little more than I would normally spend, but this was a treat for me. When it came down to it, if I chose to purchase everything except the knit jacket, it would end up costing me $194. With the jacket, I will pay $199 because of the additional 25% off discount.
In the end, I decided to keep everything! It was a fun first fix and I think I am going to get one more. Next time, I am going to ask for more color, specifically a more colorful floral pant.
