I moved into my house a little over a year ago and I had yet to do any decorating in my bathroom. I specifically wanted to hang something over the toilet so it wasn’t just a bare wall. I purchased a floating wooden shelf because I thought that would be fun to decorate on but when I went to put it up, I realized the studs were not even close to being in the right spot. Below is the “before” with a guest appearance from Gypsy Skye.
I left it blank for a few more months and got inspired just after Christmas. I was given a Willow and Sage magazine as a gift and it was full of bath and body DIY ideas. This is the kind of magazine that I always look at in the store and never buy because I can’t bear to spend the money on it! I do love them though!
**Side note** If anyone is ever wanting to buy me something that I wouldn’t buy myself…I have had my eyes on the Flea Market and Vintage Finds magazines for years!
This Willow and Sage magazine in particular, had a fun article about using fresh eucalyptus in the shower to create an aromatic environment that helps wake up your senses in the morning. I LOVE the smell of eucalyptus so I was all about it. I picked some up at Trader Joe’s and instead of hanging it in my shower, I decided to put it in a vase and leave it on top of the toilet seat. It will last longer in the water and my bathroom smells amazing all of the time! I complimented it with my eucalyptus spearmint lotion from Bath & Body Works. Above it, I decided to hang a canvas that I picked up at TJ Maxx somewhere along the line. I think it compliments the fresh eucalyptus perfectly!
It is so simple and cost less than $20! I am so in love with it!
Imagine all of the beautiful crazy possibilities!
