I have been on the hunt for a foot stool/coffee table for my living room. Nothing special, just something that I can put my feet up on while I am watching TV or set a drink on. I wanted something on the smaller side so I could still spread out and craft on the floor if I wanted to. I have been to a couple stores but haven’t been able to find anything that seems to fit my style.
Recently, a friend asked me to paint a few signs for him for his business display. Dragonfly Jams & Jellies – check them out here! He currently has his products in the Tops Markets in Lewistion, The Village Bake Shop in Lewiston, The House of Olives in Buffalo and at many local vendor events!
Anyway, I painted a few Valentine’s Day themed signs for him and while talking with him, we decided to do a little trade with a couple of our wooden crates! We very much have the same taste when it comes to a good rustic display piece and I had a green wooden box that he has had his eye on for a year or so (pictured below with the signs I painted). After telling him I wanted to keep it over and over again, I finally caved and traded him for another awesome wooden box. This one is blue and reads “barracuda” on it.
He left it on the side of my house and instead of throwing it in the garage for the winter, for some reason I decided to drag it into the house. I thought it could be a cool decor piece. Then it hit me! It was the perfect height for a foot stool/coffee table!
I am loving it! It may not be exactly what I had in mind, but it completely serves the purpose and goes very well with my eclectic decor.
Imagine all of the beautiful crazy possibilities!
